Paris

We still are shocked about what happenend in Paris. Everywhere you come, people are talking about it. And what is more, there are prayers too. As yesterday evening at the concert of Paul Baloche in Veenendaal, the Netherlands. It is great to be united in prayer and praise, even more in times of tears.
So, here is a card I made for Church, last summer. It is good to share it here now.

The postcard stamp is Hero Arts. The pen stamp is Impression Obsession. And the rose is so beautiful! Used it a lot!

Thanks for visiting!

Texture

Today I want to share a card I made for Virginias Vieuw Challenge.
This months theme is : Texture.
There are so many ways you can add texture on your cards to give it more dimension, but on my card today I used embossing paste.

The card was very easy to make. First I used a stencil by "Dutch Doobadoo" and added embossingpaste over it, wich was first colored with "Brusho" Olive Green. Then I cut a banner wich is "My Favorite Things". The sentiment is "Hero Arts" and the Poinsettia is "Clearly Besotted". Finished it with red gemstones and red ribbon. Ready!
This card is very tradional, but I like its warmth!
Hope you like it too!
Thanks for your visit.

Celebrate

We celebrate some sunny autumn days here in the Netherlands. Wich I am very happy with! Last weeks I was busy with work and family things, as there are my birthday and autumn vacation, but I can tell that I also always find some time for a bike ride and a walk in our nearby little forest. There's not much time left for stamping, but now and then I finish a project, and this is one of them.

All stamps used are Hero Arts stamps. All images are stamped on watercolor paper and heat embossed with WOW white embossingpowder. Then colored with Distress Inks.
Hope you can find time to do things you love!
Thank you for visiting!

Make Over

I think it is over 10 years ago I started cardmaking and stamping. One of the very first stamp sets I bought are the "Wavy Wishes". It is used on this card.

The sea shells are cut out images as I used than. I don't know exactly for how long I kept this card, and I sure don't know why I kept it, but recently I found it in my box. Now, Hero Arts Challenge of this month is to take an old card you made and give it a "Make-Over". And thats what I did with this card. You can see the result here.

I heat embossed the shells. They are from the "Antique Engravings" stamp set by Hero Arts. Colored them with Distress Inks and adhered them on a panel stamped with the "Magical Background" stamp. The frame is cut with a Wplus9 die and the die at the right side is from Hero Arts "Long and cute tags".
The sentiment is an old time favorite "Whimsical Happy Birthday" by HA.
Here are both the cards together.

The reason for this months Challenge at Hero Arts Blog is because their blog got a "Make Over". It has a new modern look, and it sure is worth it visiting. I can reccomend it!
You can find it here:

And hope you had a nice visit here!

There's a tiny dragonfly. It's Hero Arts. I like to add such tiny creatures, just to make it more alive.

Hope you liked your visit here!

Summer Vacation

It's been a week already since we came back from our Summer Vacation destination: Kefalonia. I have to admit that I never heard of Kefalonia before, but when I was searching for a nice place to go to, I found out that Kefalonia is one of the many Greek Islands.
And off we went, by airplane of course, to what we came to know, is a special, beautiful place on earth.
I still cherish the memories, and go through my photo's again and again.
Here are some of them, just to share some beauty.

This is the house we stayed at, loved it! Surrounded by a beautiful garden and so much olive trees.

The port of Argostoli.

Catch of the day.

Two sea turtles.

A little church somewhere a long the way.

A beautiful door in Fiscardo.

A small street and a lot of souvenir stores.

I always like to see bougainville.

Jan and I enjoying an early cappuchino in Argostoli. Photo is made by Casper. We loved it to have him there too. He always makes us laugh.

Hope you like this little impression of Kefalonia.

Perfect Summer

We have some lovely warm days here in the Netherlands. Good to share a lovely summer card with shells. This card went to Barcelona already. Do you know they have kilometers of beaches? I've never been there but hope I will one day. In the meantime I am enjoying our Dutch beaches :)

The shells are Hero Arts stamps from the "Antique Engravings" stamp set. The shells are heat embossed with gold embossing powder and colored with Distress Inks. And the background is made with a dutch stencil by Dutch Doobadoo, using embossing paste sprinkled with a pink glitter powder while wet...gives a bubbelicious effect. Fun!
Hope you like it too.
Thanks for visiting!

In my garden

Although our garden is small, sometimes very special things can be seen here.
As last sunday..... I saw a very, for me, strange creature. Of course I ran to get my camera. And this is what I saw.

I was wondering: Is it a hummingbird or an insect? A butterfly? After some research on internet I found it is a "Kolibrie-vlinder". A hummingbirdbutterfly. In spring it comes to the Netherlands from the south of Europe. And in late summer it goes back.
Is that wonderful,or what?!
You can read more about it here:
http://www.natuurbericht.nl/?id=14064
I never saw such a creature here before, and I loved this experience.

Inspired by.....paper napkins

Inspiration can come from everywere. My inspiration for this card came from paper napkins. I love the fishes on it. They are great to use when we eat fish. But last week I thought of the Hero Arts stampset, CL372 Oceans of Joy, with fishes I have and decided to stamp and color them as the fishes on the napkins.

After coloring the fishes with copic markers, I cut them by hand and added them on the card, and on some of them I used doublesided tape to raise them a little, as you can see here.

For the design I used sketch #131 on the "CAS(E) this sketch challenge blog".

I am going to insert it in the challenge, wich you can find here:
http://casethissketch.blogspot.nl/
Hope you enjoyed your visit here!

100% Stamped

This months theme at Virginia's Vieuw Challenge Blog is: "100% Stamped".
The card I made for the challenge IS 100% stamped!

The stamps I used are all Hero Arts stamps. The stampset used is: CL401 "Speckled Ornaments". I used one of the smaller stamps in this set to create a background by stamping it in rows with different Hero Arts Midtone Shadow Inks. Than stamped the biggest stamp in the set with Versamark on vellum and heat embossed it with silver embossingpowder by WOW. The little stripes at the left are stamped with C3117 "Crayon Stix". This stamp goes very well with the stampset.

And finally the sentiment. Here in a close up you see it's stamped on vellum too, and heat embossed with silver embossingpowder. This sentiment is from a stampset CL267 "Card Messages".

Thank you for visiting! Thats much appreciated!

Tic Tac Toe

On this last day of June, I want to share a card I made today for Hero Arts "Tic Tac Toe" Challenge.

The fun idea of this challenge is that you can pick three words in a row and use them to make a card. I already made a card with the bottom words, earlier this month, wich you can see here.

The possibilities are endless, but only today I got some inspiration to make a card with another row of the Tic Tac Toe scheme.
This time I have chosen the left row: Circles, Background stamp, Watercolor.
And this is the card I came up with.

First I stamped the Circle background stamp, K5788 "Paint Print", with Versamark Ink, on watercolor paper. Next I embossed it with Opaque White of "Wow" embossingpowders.
Than colored it with Distress Inks and yes, I held it under the streaming water in the sink! After that I came back with my Distress Markers and added some extra color. Dried it with my heat tool.

Next I stamped the sentiment circle of the CL 698 "Not Perfect"stamp set, with Versamark and embossed it and added color on it. Added some flags and gemstones and Enamel dots.

Actually I took the colors of these Enamel dots as my starting point, how fun is that?!
Thank you for visiting. Hope you liked it!

Ombre

The card showed here is made for Virginia's Vieuw Challenge: "Ombre".
For the background I used a stencil by Prima and Donna Downey Studio's.
I used embossingpaste and colored it bit by bit with Aleene's premium-Coat Acrylique in Terra Cotta.

The sentiment is embossed in gold and is Hero Arts.

And the sequins are also Hero Arts.

My daughter said she liked the card. So I gave it to her. Could there be a better destination?! She is so special for me!

Graduation

As you can see I have a new blog header. The foto you see is made by me while visiting a craftstore in Rotterdam. The name of the craftstore is Pipoos and is welknown in the Netherlands. You can buy paper as you can see, but also embellishments, beads, stuff for baking a cake or quilting. Of course I asked for permission first! The lady in the store was very friendly and gave me permission to make a photo. I can't go by that store without visiting :)

And now to my card. The card you see here is for my nephew. He has his graduation tomorrow, and I can't go and visit, as I would do if they lived here. They are living in California, and although I would love to go there, it isn't possible right now. So, the best I could do is make him a card, to take part in the Celebration.

In the background a cityscape by Hero Arts. It could be San Francisco isn't it?You see, there's a lot to celebrate out there! The letters of the word "Congrats" and the word "Celebrate" are cut with my Cricut.

And finally I would mention I am going to share it in the CASology Challenge for this week : " Graduation". I don't know if it is Clean enough, but it was Simple to make, thats for sure! And besides that: I had a lot of fun making it. Hope you find a little fun while visiting here!

Liquid Masking

This was the theme for day 3 of the Online Card Class.
Now, I don't have a liquid masking in my stash...Have heard about it before, but never saw it or felt the urge to buy it. Until now I have seen what you can achieve with it! BUT... It didn't stop me there. After I saw the beautiful card Shari Carroll made with liquid masking, I had to try it myself. Instead of a liquid masking product I used regular masking note-it paper. By doing so, I got a similar result wich can be seen here.

I used two Hero Arts butterflies( AC030),covered them with note-it paper. Than stamped the "Scratches" background stamp ( IO CC044 C-A-C ) on it with HA Shadow Ink in pool. And over this I added Peeled Paint Distress Ink on a Dutch Doobadoo stencil ( Bubbles). The greeting is from HA CL272.
Thanks to Shari for her design, her lessons and tips!

Masked feathers

Today I like to share a card wich is also made as "homework" for the Online Card Class "MASK-erade".
This card is made after an example of Debby Hughes. I am a big fan of hers!!!
You can find her blog here:
http://limedoodledesign.com
Debby is one of the teachers of the Online Card Class.
Her lesson on day 5: "Masking White Area's" , showed two die-cut feathers, covered with clear embossing powder. Than colored the background with beautiful blue colors. And finally ironed-off the embossing.
I followed her example closely. As you can see here.

Where she used die cuts by SSS, I used the outlines of cut out feathers from my Cricut. Where she used aquarel paint, I used my Distress Inks.
Now, I am pretty satisfied how this turned out.
Thank you Debby!

MASK-erade

MASK-erade: an Online Card Class given by welknown ( Stamp) Artists.
If your are familiair with this world of card making you probably know the names of Jennifer McQuire, Shari Carol, Laura Bassen.
If not, they are so creative in finding new techniques. And their results are always amazing. So, it is a great joy to be a participant and watch all the video's with lessons, and great tips.
Here is one of the results of "homework".

I made a "Mask" using my Cricut "Don Juan" cartridge, for the word "HI". And I used Post-it note paper for it. Than filled in the gaps of the letters with little flowers almost all of stampsets by Hero Arts, exept for the little leaf, its from PTI.

Than I will say, that this is not my own design, but I followed the example of Jennifer McQuire closely.

I made one more card with this technique and will show it on my Flickr stream.

Thanks for visiting. Its much appreciated!
