Lantern

Last weeks I was busy making Christmas cards. One of them I will share here.
The little lantern is a die by “Simply Graphic”. I was searching for lanterns for ages. And finally found these. I also bought some greenery dies at “Simply Graphic” and they are just the right size and so elegant and stylish.

Added a Hero Arts sentiment, a little snowflake on the lantern, and some “snow” on the leaves and berries.

The Pine Branch in the background is a Impression Obsession stamp.

Green

This thinking of you card was so fun to make. Loved it to color all the swirls and dots of the background stamp by Hero Arts, CG330,  with shades of green, blue and silver.
The little flowers are cut with my Cricut machine. The sentiment is Simon Says Stamp. 

Used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers for the coloring.

Delfs blauw

When we visited Amsterdam a while ago I saw this.
These are tiles in blue and white. They are attached to a wall at half high up. I saw it through  a window and sneeky took a photo. Don’t worry, it wasn’t a livingroom, I think  it was a hall.

This photo was the inspiration for this card.

The stampset used here is “Center cut hexagon Floral”. SSS 102097. The sentiment says Sending Love in dutch. The woorden shoe stamp is from a dutch stamp set by Aurelie. AUSC1023.

I used several shades of Distress Inks. Doing so I tryed to reach a “Delfts blue” look. 

I glued a piece of dark blue paper behind the tiles to make it more stand out. And a silver lining at the bottom to give the card a bit of elegance.

Beautiful day

We have a beautiful sunny day today. Blue sky, big white clouds. Just perfect! 

In our garden you see so much flowers. Now and than I pick some for inside the house and that was inspiring for this card.

First used a stencil to put some pink color on white paper. Than used a die  to give it some texture. SSS111856.

Put a Altenew sentiment on top and a Altenew image, from a garden stampset: Garden Grow. I had so much fun with this particular stampset. Colored with Copics and Pencils.

Thank you Virgina Lu for your constant inspiration! I have seen you done this again and again: using a cover plate die over a stamped background. Wonderful!

Birthday Wishes

Not so long ago I saw a video of Yana Smakula, were she showed a coloring technique wich spoke to me. So I wanted to try that myself.
Instead of blending the Copic Marker coloring, you see each color used in a certain area without trying to blend it.

You are amazing

Speaking about amazing: I recently came by Stacy’s blog with the name Tattered Nest Designs. I came there via Debby Hughes “Lime Doodle blog”. The card I saw on Stacy’s blog was amazing! Super beautiful! And there was a perfect lesson on how she made it.

I had to try this myself, with my own supplies.

Stamped the Hero Arts “Friendship” background stamp with TeaDye Distress Ink on watercolor paper. Inked the back of the flower stencil (Prima Marketing, #922139) with Weathered Wood Distress Ink. Pushed in on the background. Than cleaned it and layed it again on the background and added red Distress Inks in the openings. Stamped some flowers hearts in Aged Mahogany.
Used a stencil with dots to add some glittery paste. And a sentiment and a string. And Done!

LOVE the technique and the result!

Sympathy card

Made a sympathy card today because I needed one.
For this card I used a Penny Black stamp.  “Butterfly dance”. Simply stamped it on a light blue/gray paper. Found the exact same color ribbon by Sostrene Grenes. And added some sequins.

A little....

Hello to all, on this sunny and warm summer day.

I recently made a serie of cards with a Hero Arts stamp set wich I didn’t use much so far. Mostly because I had no inspiration  for it, even thinking: why did I but it at all?

But than came the day, I got some wonderful ideas. One of these cards I am going to share here, and also going to insert this in the SSS Wednesday challenge:”Anything goes “.

The stampset “A little..” CL758 was used for 5 cards so far, I used as a base. Stamped with “Soft granite “ ink. And used CL416 “Whats Perking” for the mug and the little spoon. The cup cake is also Hero Arts. The coffee bean is from CL187 sparkle clear:Coffee.

Birds

Lately I made a card with birds for a birthday of a man. I think birds are perfect for a mail birthdaycard.
For this card I used an Altenew stamp set with the name:

“Birds of a Feather”.

Added some clouds and a sun  with a stencil. And some little flowers from a Hero Arts stamp set because of Spring.

Ink smooshing technique

I recently saw some cards with the ink smooshing technique.

And that did me want to play with this technique myself. Here is the result of plating with inks and smooshing around.

The flowers are cut out using my cricut machine and the “mothersday bouquet” cartridge.
The background die I got once from a friend. The “happy” word is also cut with Cricut and the “birthday” word is from a “Altenew” stampset.

Bloomville

Bloomville is the name of the beautiful papers of “Mintaypapers”. Lovely designs of flowers, birds and butterflies. Here I used it to frame my stamped butterfly.
The butterfly is a stamp by Unity Stamp Company. Stamped it with several Distress Inks. The background is a Hero Arts stamp “Old Letter”. The wish is a stampset by Magenta.

Dainty Sprig

The stampset I made this card with is a collaboration stampset of Simon Says Stamp and Altenew. 
It is a fun stamp to work with. For this card I stamped the image with Fadeout No Line coloring. I used it before and it worked good. But this time the stamped lines piked up the Distress Inks, and there the lines appear. What did I wrong? 

But the final result is fine and I am satisfied anyway.

Added some splatters and enamel dots. 

And yes, a fine friendship is something to be thankful for!

Stamp Layering on dark cardstock

For the cards on this blogpost I used a stamp technique of Jennifer Mcquire wich she explains here.

This card was made with an Altenew stampset, and gold emissiehandel powder.

Made two more cards with this technique, with different colors of cardstock. The sentiment is from a SSS stampset. I used this sentiment because I wanted to encourage some people in this  confusing time.
And the last one. This is my favorite.

For me it was a challenge to choose the right color of cardstock with the right color of ink!

But finally I was satisfied with the result. And got some lovely appreciation for it!

Psalm 103

Made a card for someone who is ill. The text in de background is from the Bible. 
The swirls you see are made with a stencil.
The flowers are from a stampset by Pretty Pink Posh.

First colored the flowers with Distress Inks, and after drying added some extra color with pencils. And some gold in the center of the flowers.

Live life in full bloom

The titel of this blogpost is one of the wishes in a stampset by Studio Light. The designer of this particular stampset is Karin Joan.  The stampset contains lovely flowers and leaves. Here is one of the cards I made with it.

I colored the flowers with Copic Markers. And went over it with my Polychromos Pencils by Faber Castell.

The butterfly is from a stampset by Hero Arts.
The sentiment is from a stampset by Altenew.

And do you see the lovely glitter paper on the left side of the card? It comes from Søstrene Grene.

Encouragement

During these strange days of staying at home it is good to make some cards to encourage someone who is effected by all what is going on. And I did. Here is one of the cards I made to brighten up someones day.

Tea

It’s been a long time since I was on the CASology blog. This blog has a challenge every week and this weeks cue word is “TEA”.
So, I really love tea, and it is fun to make a card for this weeks challenge.

Blooming

Blooming is the name of a stampset by Studio Light. The flowers in this stampset are designed by Karin Joan. I really love the style of these stamps. 

Here is a first card for wich I used the stampset.

The brush strokes in the background are made with a stamp by Gummipan. The flower is paper pieced. And how true is the sentiment! Got it once on the Art Specially event.

Paper piecing

After watching a video by Jennifer Mcquire, about Paper Piecing, I felt enthusiastic  again. In the past it was one of my favorite techniques. But it was some time ago I used it. So, I took some paper pads from my closet and had a quick start, and made some cards. Here is one of them.

Snowdrops

My backyard is full of snowdrops, wich I love! It is a sign of spring is coming. Not long ago I found a die of snowdrops I couldn’t resist. 
With this die I already made several cards, and this is one of them.

You can add as much snowdrops as you like, and make lovely arrangements.
The sentiment is dutch and says Happy Birthday. The background stamp is by Simon Says Stamp. The oval die I used for the patern paper is Hero Arts. Added some raindrops.

Just made a quick photo of snowdrops in the rain right at my backdoor.

And oh, you see the raster? There’s one of my roses and it has new shoots already! And it is only february...Can’t wait for it to give flowers. But that will take some months I think.
