A new King and Queen

Today is an important day for our country the Netherlands!
Our Queen Beatrix signed her abdication this morning. And by doing that we got a new King and Queen: King Willem Alexander and Queen Maxima.
Just at this moment we see all the important guests coming into the "New Church" in Amsterdam to join our royal family for the swearing of King Willem Alexander.

Last week a whole lot of people got a distinguishing mark by, than, Queen Beatrix. One of our friends got one. She became " Lid in de orde van Oranje-Nassau". Most of the time people who do a lot for society get such an honourful distinguishing mark. For her I made this card to congratulate her.

On my card there' s a crown, stamped with a Hero Arts stamp. The background is stamped with an Impression Obsession stamp. I also added the Dutch flag and pennant. Hope she will like it!

Hoek van Holland

"Hoek van Holland" , entrance of Rotterdam Harbour.
Recently we went there for a walk. As so many people in the Netherlands do from time to time. Especially on a sunny day! There's always something to see. Big container ships going in and out. But this day we saw some very beautiful sailing boats!

As you take a closer look you see the Rotterdam industrial area in the background. With the sun shining on it , it has something beautiful in a way...

And our children went with us there.

The nicest part is that you can walk right on the beach from there. We took a cup of coffee in a beach restaurant and were able to sit outside in the sun!!!
A wonderful day!

Tilda Paper

Last week I was playing with Tilda paper. After seeing the "Wrap Up" of the "Pattern Play" Class ,I knew that I would try to make a card after Jennifers example, with Tilda paper.
And here it is!

I couldn't stop and I made some more cards with the same layout.
As you can see here.

And here in a different color palette.

And some more!

And finally this one.

Wow, this was so much fun!
Now have enough cards for birthdays in April, ha!

Washi Tape

Today's card is made using Washi/Paper tape. I made it for the Moxie Fab Challenge: The Washi tape Challenge. They challenge you to use Washi tape in an innovative way. Using Washi tape isn't hard at all, because it comes in so many lovely colors and patterns. And it can be used in so many different ways!
But to use it in an innovative way is much more difficult. But I gave it a try.
First I sticked some strips of tape on a piece of white cardstock, than cut a butterfly, and than cut the wings out of the piece with tape on it.
And here it is; a colorful fancy butterfly!

The butterfly is cut out with my Cricut, using the "Straight from the Nest" Cartridge.
The background is made with a background stamp by Impression Obsession. It is stamped with Hero Arts shadow ink on Hero Arts layering paper. The paper tape is bought at HEMA(Netherlands).

Pattern Play

This week I was participating in the Online Class: Pattern Play.
It was so much fun to see the video's. And I learned so much! I really loved it to get a lot of wonderful lessons, all kind of tips and idea's.

It is not only that you can watch the video's but also you have to do some "homework".
By doing that you can make things your own.
And of course it is a lot of fun!

This card is made after seeing a video on Day 1 by Jennifer.

Instead of die cuts I used my Cricut to cut the hearts. I was using the "Don Juan" cartridge. The paper is by Basic Grey and has the name "Kissing Booth". The sentiment is Hero Arts from the CL036 set "Number Two", and I used Royal Red Midtone Ink to stamp with.
Than added some punched hearts and covered them with glossy accents.
On the edges I applied softly Color Box Ink.
Doing that the hearts stand out some more.

Hope you like my card.

Mosaic

Today I want to show you two cards I did lately with the mosaic technique.
Saw the idea on Hero Arts Blog a while ago. One of these cards I entered in Lucy's Sketch Challenge. But I made two, so here they come.

And here you can see them both.

The dotted paper is Papertrey Ink. The paper I used for the tiles is Hero Arts Layering paper. The sentiments are Hero Arts.
And do you see the lovely organza ribbon. Can't get enough of it!
The little flower is pure siver!
The mosaic has a little bit of a shine on it. Thats because I used "Multi Coat" by Make Me...found it in my cupboard...totally forgot all about it...mmm, thats me :)
Hope you like it!

One stamp, three ways

I am taking part in the "Clean and Simple 2 Online Card Classes!
After being in doubt for a long time, I finally decided to subscribe this time.
And I can say that I didn't regret it one little minute.
I already learned so much, and besides that it is so much FUN!
For todays blog post I show you a part of the "homework" we got.
At day 5 we saw how to use one stamp in three different ways.
And it was our "task" to search in our own stamps and choose one stamp and use it in tree different ways.
I did!
Here are my cards.

This card is stamped with memento ink and the flowerstamp. Than colored it with Copic markers. The background is stamped with the sentiment wich is in the same set and Colorbox Ink.

The second card. For this card I first stamped a sentiment and embossed it in white. Than added Colorbox Ink Sky blue with a sponge. The same flowers are stamped with versamark and embossed in white. Used My Minds Eye paper for this card to stamp the flowers on. Than cut them out by hand and glued them on the background.

The third card is made with the same stamp again. Stamped with versamark and embossed in white on craft paper. Than colored it with Distress markers.
Stamped the sentiment on it.
Finished!
Three cards with the same flower!
This flower stamp set is by Hero Arts.
Hope you liked it!
