Painted flower

Today I want to show you a "Painted Flower" birthday card.

It is made for a birthday of someone special in my family. The sunny orange is my favorite, but it is also good, I think, for the destination of it: California!
Although this is't a Poppy, precisely, it does me think of all the orange Poppy's, I saw in bloom when I once was there!
This flower is a stamp by Hero Arts and so is the backgroundstamp!

Stamp your Story

Today I want to share something I made with some new stamps by Hero Arts.
This new line of stamps is called : "Stamp your story". They are perfect for making scrapbookpages and for cardmaking, but in a new and artsy style.

These two little pages showe off what is important for me.

Today is a sunny day and we enjoy it in our own little garden.

What also is important for me is how we can be encouraged by some friendly words!
I found this frase of Mother Theresa is a book and printed them and build this page around it.

Now, this is my first try out with the fun journaling stamps of the "Stamp your Story" stampsets, and I am going to enter it in the Hero Arts Challenge with the same name.

Card drive for Maddy

Lately I came across this Card drive for Maddy, and I decided to send her a card myself. Maddy is a young girl who is diagnosed with leukemia, and is treated for that. We all know how very difficult this is to go through.
So, if my card can bring a little sunshine, wich I hope, than I would be happy. Here is my card, wich is already in the mail.

For those of you who read this and want to participate, here is Maddy's adress:
Target House 2
Maddy Justice, room 416
1811 Poplar Avenue
Memphis, TN 38104
USA
Who like to read more of Maddy can start here at the Simon Says Stamp Blog:

In the past I never heard of a Card Drive here in my country, but now I participate in several of them, I like the idea. Do we have Card Drives overhere in The Netherlands?
I know, people in The Netherlands love to write and get cards.
And it is a blessing to get an encouraging in the mail!

Maps

Summer vacation is just around the corner. So, when I saw that there was a challenge at CAS-ual fridays with the titel: Mapquests, I wanted to join in.

And now my card.

Made this card for a special person in my family, who intend to travel a lot this summer, as he is living in Houston, traveling to California and than spend some time in Colorado. Is that amazing or what?!
I like to wish him that he can enjoy all the traveling!
The card was simple to make with an old book with maps I got at one of the schools I work at. They got new books and intend to trow away the old ones. So I asked for one to be able to cut in it :)
The suitcase and the sentiment are stamps by Hero Arts.
Hope you like it!

Father's Day

This time I want to show you the card I made for father's day. Didn't know what to make for him, but I was inspired by a card I saw on Hero Arts flickr stream, made by someone with the name Margie. Thank you Margie!

Because my father is dutch, as I am, I didn't want to use an english sentiment on the card. Instead of that I choose a verse of a song wich is in our Church songbook.
My father has gardening as a hobby, so my parents have a lovely garden around their house.
I like to show you some photo's of their garden here.

Hope you liked it so see some lovely flowers!

A warm hello

This "Painted Flower" stamp is from the new "Stamp your story" catalog of Hero Arts. I really love this stamp! For this card I used only Hero Arts Shadow
Inks. In the background is the "Antique Brocade". It goes very well with the style of the flower, in my opinion.

Love the summery look of this card.
Just like the weather here today in the Netherlands: Sunny, blue sky....what else do you wish?!
