Partial Heat Embossing

I like to share a card made after watching a video by Jennifer McGuire about Partial Heat Embossing. It means that you use a stamp, ink it up with Versamark Ink and than only partial put some embossing powder on it.
Here you can see the card I made. After heat embossing it in white, I colored it with Distress Inks in reds, with some Gansai Tambi in White Gold.
Here a closer look. You can see this Simon Says Stamp background stamp is only partial covered with embossing powder. This is the Star Flower Background. (SSS 101727)  I added some pearls, a sentiment by Hero Arts wich is also partial used, and a "Love" die bought at Michaels. There are 10 fun words in this die set.
I recommend watching the video of Jennifer about Partial Heat Embossing. It is fun and her explanation is so much better than mine!

30 Day Coloring Challenge

Last week I was coloring each and every day, because I was determined to join the 30 Day Coloring Challenge of Kathy Raccoosin.

Now you might think I am coloring the whole day, but thats not the fact. No, in fact I am only coloring for 10 minutes or 30 minutes a day, after work or before I go to bed.  By doing so I follow the recommendation of Kathy herself. And finally I was able to finish a card on wich I applied what I learned on her blog.

The flower stamps I used here are from Pretty Pink Posh:" Wild Rose Stamp".

First colored the flowers with Copic Markers and than added layers of color with pencils.
Finally cut them and arranged them on a card with a striped strip and a small glitter strip. Added some white dots on the center of the flowers.
Thank you for visiting.
Hope you will visit "The Daily Marker", to get some tips for coloring and idea's for cards. Surrely reccomended!

Heartfelt

Today I like to show some cards I made with a stamp by Technique Tuesday. With Valentine's coming up it is good to have some cards with hearts on hand.

On the first one I heat embossed the heart image in white. It is from a small stampset with the name: "Heartfelt Thanks". (HFelt) Made it wet with water and added Distress Inks.

On the second card I did almost the same. Added far more water and added only one color Distress Ink. The little word Sending is from a Hero Arts stampset. (CL272) The "Hugs" die is from Simon Says Stamp. (SSS D111545)
The little hearts are SSS too.

Sunday Afternoon

As often on Sunday afternoons I was playing with paper, creating, coloring, stamping and cutting.
This time with someone in my thoughts who has her birthday this week. Here is the result.

First I stamped the Rose of Sharon with Aged Mahogany Distress Ink. By Impression Obsession (G16182). Than I stamped the Rose of Sharon Reverse in Worn Lipstick Distress Ink. (G16181). Cut it and stamped some leaves from an Altenew stampset with the name:"Beautiful Day". Cut them and glued them behind the flower. Added a strip of Vellum with the sentiment. It is by Papertrey Ink: item #2473, Think Big favorites #12. Nothing special on this , but just fun to make.

Something New

Happy new year to all who read this!

At the beginning of this new year I made some cards with a new to me stamp I recently bought in a craft store in Rotterdam. And since there's a challenge at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge with the theme:"Something New", I plannend to join in this challenge. The design team used Hero Arts stamps and I did so too.

On the first card I used the new to me stampset by Marianne Design. (KJ1709) And than for the images I used a Hero Arts stampset:"Whats perking".(CL416) I used this stampset so often and still Love it! Colored it with Copic Markers.

The second card is made with the same stampsets. But used also the paper piecing technique on this card.

On the third card I used the same stampset for the sentiment but for the image used a little stampset by PapertreyInk. ( Heart to heart #1 item #2475.
